Creating Pathways to Postsecondary Success for Bronx Youth
Bridge to College & Careers (B2CC) is Phipps Neighborhoods’ flagship college and career readiness program, serving over 225 high school students annually across three Bronx public schools.
Designed in partnership with school leaders and funded by visionary partners, the program helps students explore their interests, build critical life and career skills, and graduate prepared for college, employment, or advanced training.
We work where the need is greatest
93% of students served are economically disadvantaged, and the Bronx has one of the highest youth disconnection rates in the country. B2CC provides the structure, guidance, and access needed to shift outcomes for young people-starting as early as 9th grade.
B2CC is a strategic intervention, preparing students to fill jobs that exist today AND thrive in the economy of tomorrow.
What the Program Offers
B2CC is embedded within our Community School and coordinated by a dedicated Phipps Neighborhoods team. Students receive:
- Career Assessments: Linking values and interests to future paths
- College Advising: One-on-one support for applications and financial aid/FAFSA
- Work-Based Learning: Through the Work, Learn & Grow and SYEP programs and employer panels
- College Exposure: College tours, fairs, overnight campus visits
- Senior Year Transition Planning: Personalized guidance for every graduate
How it Works
B2CC operates at our community school partners: East Bronx Academy for the Future, Metropolitan High School, and Wings Academy (MAP)
Each school is paired with a team of program staff that provides year-round advising, early exposure and transition planning. The program runs from 9th through 12th grade, creating a seamless bridge from high school to future opportunity.
