Paid work experiences and career exploration for NYC youth, ages 14-24.
Each year, Phipps Neighborhoods connects hundreds of Bronx youth to paid work experiences, career exploration, and essential life skills through our participation in two citywide programs: the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and Work, Learn, Grow (WLG).
These programs provide young people – ages 14 to 24 – with more than just a paycheck. Participants gain hands-on experience in real workplaces, build their professional skills, and explore careers in fields like technology, education, the arts, business, and community service.
As a longtime provider of youth employment programming, we partner with local employers, schools, and city agencies to ensure that each participant is supported in a role that reflects their interests and builds toward their future goals. Many youth who start with SYEP return during the school year through our WLG program, which includes academic support, college prep, and advanced job readiness training.
