Summer Youth Employment Program

Phipps’ Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) opens the door to valuable job opportunities and six weeks of paid practical skill development to New Yorkers aged 14-24. Serving hundreds of New Yorkers, this experience gives participants the foundation for a career crafted to reflect their unique interests and aspirations. From technology and arts to business and community service, we connect individuals to roles and industries that resonate with their passions. Through hands-on experience and professional guidance, SYEP is committed to empowering you this summer – and beyond.

Program Benefits

  • Career Exploration: Participants will explore their interests and discover new career possibilities.
  • Project-Based Learning: NYC Teens aged 14-15 will learn about career opportunities while also making a difference in their communities
  • Work Experiences: Young people aged 16-24 will enhance their workplace readiness skills while discovering various career pathways
  • Community Building: The program provides participants valuable skills to become involved and engaged in their workplaces and communities.
  • Earn Money: Participants get paid for their participation in the program.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must be between 14 and 24 years old
  • Be a resident of one of the boroughs of New York City
  • Legally allowed to work in New York City
